Get creative

IN THIS BLOG SERIES I WILL GO THROUGH SOME OF THE EXPERIMENTS AND EXPERIENCES I WENT THROUGH ( AND STILL GOING THROUGH DAILY ) ON HOW TO BREAK OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND WHAT MY LIFE IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS TAUGHT ME ABOUT IT.
I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU ON YOUR OWN PATH !

In the last post I shared with you the power of keeping a journal and use it to explore that aspect of our life that we want to overcome to get out of our comfort zone. Journalling allows you to get clarity about what it's holding you back, what are the reasons tha make this step so hard to take , but also why making that step is so important to you and all the benefits that you'll get by taking that small or big leap of faith!

So what's next ?

ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR FEAR

The next step is to acknowledge that the fear and anxiety you're feeling is perfectly normal. You're human and as human beings we like to be in our comfort zone, it feels safe and we naturally spend a lot of time in there. But you know very well that it's not the place that will make you grow and bring your life on the next level.

By aknowledging that being scared is absolutely ok, you can get awareness around the fear and look at it straight in the face as something that it's only a small part of you, not something that defines your identity and manage your life's decisions.

The advantage of this step?

By journalling and aknowledging yourself you're automatically taking time to slow down and feel in control of the situation.

You're now able to break it down into smaller and less scary pieces.

CONSIDER YOUR OPTIONS

What are the options that are available now? What can you do to move forward ? It's time to brainstorm the possibilities and get creative about the possible solutions.

For example, If learning a new language is something out of your comfort zone, because you've never been good at languages at school and you have so many memories of feeling like an idiot when you have tried to talk in another language, but you feel that it could bring you so much knowledge and confidence when travelling abroad...try to braisntorm the ways in which you can access that language in a fun and progressive way. Like watching movies, listening to music, buying some books for children ....

If what you're planning to do it's something "bigger", like getting out of a dependant relationship in which you have been for years, use the same process and start to think of possible ways to approach your partner and communicate that truth , or think about the other parts of your life that will be affected by this choice

How to do it?

If you're a visual person you can book a time of this week to spend with yourself and a good cup of your favorite tea, and then just start to scribble down what goes through your mind. Think out of the box and just write on paper what your heart is telling you to do.

Or maybe you can get into nature and go for a walk and see how the best ideas will suddenly come to your mind.

Now it's your turn, How do you brainstorm your options when you have to take an important decision? What are the tools you use to help yourself ?

I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas about it!

With love and light,

Alessia
