Do you want to finally turn a passion into your business? Here are 4 mindset shifts you’ll need to make it happen sooner than later!

  1. Think about how you can make people’s lives better with that passion.

When we shift the perspective from what we can get out of a passion to what we can give everything changes.

And that’s a sure way of building a business that’s needed.

Basically go back to what your WHY is, what would you like to change in this world to make it a bit better and your passion will be the tool to do it.

You want to make people experience more joy because you believe that’s the cure to lots of world problems.

You’re so motivated to give people joy, so how do you do it?

What’s a way you like to express yourself?

Singing? Art? Spreadsheets? Giving advice? Public speaking? Teaching? Gardening? ….

That’s the tool you’ll use to bring joy to people in your own unique way.

That’s the first step to turn your passion into a business idea, by connecting it to how that can impact others and the world.

If you’re thinking “But what If my idea is silly? What If the tool I choose is the wrong one?”

And here it’s a self-trust injection that really helped me :

2. You can trust your desires.

They are given to you for a reason. They are not random!

I’m talking about your inner bold desires, not just little cravings like “I’d love a pizza tonight”

I’m talking about “What If I could live on a farm and in communion with nature?”

“What If I could work with ease and do stuff that makes me excited?”

All the things you’re desiring right now are not only possible but they’re your guidance to grow and expand.

No desire is too big or off-limits!

This includes wanting to turn your passion into a business.

We live in an era when it’s easier than ever to reach your ideal audience, someone in the world that desires exactly what you have to offer!

It all starts with believing it’s possible and opening the gate of your desires.

Also another mindset shift needed is this one :

3. Turning your passion into a business requires you to see opportunities where you see lack.

The fact that you don’t have a clear plan yet, that’s a great opportunity.

The fact that you don’t have any clients yet, it’s also a great opportunity.

Also the fact that you made zero income is a great opportunity.

I know it’s scary but the place where you are right now is exciting, everything is possible there!

The fact of not having a plan yet means that you can create one on your own terms where your schedule, desired outcomes and passions are taken into account.

The fact that you don’t have clients means that there are so many people out there you could possibly work with!

The fact that you made no money yet means that you’ll be so excited when the first one comes in!

So yes the initial phase of starting a business from your passion will be MESSY and will require you to be BRAVE and resourceful, but it’s so worthy because when you’re plugged into your why and the passion you have you’ll be unstoppable and sharing them will be so much more important than doing it perfectly.

4. Remember that a business you love is still a job

They say : “Find a job you love and you’ll never work another day in your life.”

Do you agree with this famous quote?

I don’t, here is why.

A job is still a job and I don’t think it’s a bad thing.

I think this quote creates an illusion in people’s minds that their ideal career/business will be easy and flowy as If you’re not working on it.

So when an obstacle comes up we’re quick to think “Omg what did I do wrong? Why is it feeling hard?”

Normalising the obstacles is so important.

It’s a bit like a fairytale where they happily lived ever after.

If you’re in a long term relationship I’m sure you can confirm that’s not always the case.

So there is some truth in that quote, your work will not feel traditionally like hard work!

But there will be obstacles and imperfect action and unhappy clients and doing some things that you’ll not enjoy so much sometimes.

But what’s true is that you’ll feel overall happy and aligned even when things are not easy.

You’ll have a desire to overcome the obstacle because what you do matters to you and the benefits are greater than the downsides. ( If it’s not the case maybe I’d consider making bigger structural changes or changing business!)

So here you have them! I hope these mindset shifts help you see your business as possible and normalise the highs and lows that we don’t often see on social media!

Let me know in the comments below which of these mindset shifts is the hardest for you right now.
