How to nail your mindset routine for best results

Let me tell you the truth about my fears and limiting beliefs ….

They are exactly the same as yours!

Before changing career direction I was feeling so doubtful I could throw up and like I was jumping off a ship I could have never come back on …..because who was I to create my own ideal job on my own terms?

Before getting paid to do what I loved for the first time I felt like an imposter and like my first client would catch me in the act and take their money back….because how can you do something so fun and get paid?

Before going “location independent” I was so afraid clients would not trust me working with me while moving around because it looked like I was on holidays all the time

And on more recent choices ….

I felt terrified each time I raised my prices and still do at every step

My mind gets a bit crazy when I’m calling in new clients as it fears I reached the limit of people wanting to work with me

Every few months I wonder If I should add some new offerings like courses, a book and whatever else I see online and I lose trust that my path is totally ok

This is to say, even after 5 years of entrepreneurship I feel all these fears.

What’s the difference compared to year 1?

I don’t believe in them so much anymore

Not everything that your mind says is true!

Read that again ;-)

So the difference has been detaching myself from embodying those fears as I used to before.

Now I’m aware of them but I don’t let them keep me hostage

I meet them as old friends that come to visit me again.

And once that fear dissipates in some aspects ( for example I don’t feel the fear of going live on a video anymore) there is a higher challenge that appears and that triggers that fear again!

It’s like playing a game with your own mind and deciding that you’re winning this time.

That’s why I swear by my mindset work so much.

Actually, let's call it a mindset game!

So how to nail your own mindset practice so that you can play this game?

  1. Find something that works for you

I find that the most important part is understanding that your routine is unique to you and it doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Mine looks like affirmations and reading my script daily.

I also love writing in my gratitude journal.

And on bigger mindset blockages I journal and try to understand where it comes from and read books or watch videos and work on it with a mentor to get inspired by people that have overcome that blockage themselves.

It doesn't have to be complicated!

When something feels heavy I dance it off or yoga it off because my sensitive body gets very reactive when I’m scared and it needs lots of self-regulation.

How can yours look like?

Think of what helps you shift your energy and feel good.

Is it words? Movement? Both? Listening? Watching? Music?

2. Consistency ( not perfection)

Mindset is like a muscle so would you expect to have abs after a gym session?

If you do you’d probably get disappointed fast.

Mindset is the same, it’s a practice because we need to go back to it over and over again. Ideally daily !

I do skip 1 or 2 days sometimes and that’s ok as long as I go back to it.

And honestly when I skip it I miss it because my practice feels good and that’s a good sign that’s the right practice for you.

We need repetition because old beliefs will come back over and over again and that’s why we need to train our mind to believe in the new ones and this happens through repetition.

The mind filters for repetition and not accuracy.

How cool is that?

It means you can train your mind to believe anything, good or bad!

3. Make it easy

As I mentioned before, it doesn't have to be complicated. Mine lasts about 5 minutes !

You don’t need complicated rituals unless you love them and have fun with them.

Making them easy will help with consistency.

4. Trust it’s working out

This is such a huge piece.

Trusting that what you’re doing is enough and that even If you don’t see results immediately it’s ok because you’re building up that belief in yourself.

That belief has to come before evidence.

How often do we think we need to see it before we believe it?

I do that too but If you think of any innovation it was created in someone’s mind before becoming real and If that person had to see it before believing it, he would have never done it!

I’d love to know, which of these 4 steps do you find the most challenging ?
