How do I stand out from the crowd?

We all want to be seen and understood, and on a professional level this client was no different.

Her question was legit because we all want to be successful in a new business and part of it comes down to being chosen over someone else’s offering of a similar service.

If you think about it, there are so many musicians in the world but we’re drawn to particular people because they have something we resonate with. Choosing between two singers with the same talent and musical genre will come down to them as people.

This client was training to become a life coach and she felt like there were so many other coaches out there doing exactly the same thing!

How could it be space for her as well?

That’s a fear we all go through at the beginning of our business!

What we came to look at was that :

  • The result you’re bringing to your client may be similar to others. In her case there was more ease and flow in women’s lives and that’s perfect. Humans are not so complicated in what they desire, usually it’s better health, more money, love, less pain, more pleasure!

  • That results mixed with her unique process coming from her experience, her skills and competencies and personality makes the whole difference!! 

I’ve heard past clients of mine saying things like :

I prefer you.

I like your warm energy.

I feel at ease.

I felt so touched but also I couldn’t point out exactly what made someone feel that way about me compared to another coach.

The truth is that working with someone is like dating, there isn’t a rational, easy-to-explain reason why someone finds you “attractive” compared to someone else, it just happens.

What makes you stand out from the crowd in your business is your personality, your vibe and energy and how that’s simply different, no better or worse, than someone else’s.

You are the differentiator and that will differentiate what you offer from another person doing “the same thing”.

Standing out is not about performing in a certain way but accepting that your uniqueness will be exactly what a specific kind of person is looking for and a lot of it comes down to your personality.

And that’s great news because the top reason why many people like you and me want to be entrepreneurs is ….to finally stop pretending to be someone else !
